Some risk avoidance makes sense. Some doesn’t. For example, I never applied to dental school because I didn’t think I could work on a cadaver. I liked teeth, I liked working with my hands, and I was a good orthodontic technician. I am not an orthodontist because I wasn’t willing to risk failure. Instead, I guaranteed not succeeding.

People today talk about their “bucket lists.” A bucket list is a list of the things you’d like to do before you die (kick the bucket). What’s on your list, and what’s keeping you from getting it done? Picture how you’d feel if you accomplished just one item from your list. What would that feel like? How would you look? How would you act? What would be different in you and in your life? Go out there and live! Life is a time-limited opportunity, so live it now.
